“As a Product Manager at Refurb Battery, your mission is to develop and design our circular battery products for reuse and elevate its applications by combining market insights, strategic product development, and financial ownership. You are responsible for steering the product development process, including P&L performance and scalability. You serve as the central link between (market) strategy, product development, innovation, and execution. Additionally, these products must comply with (strict) laws and regulations to ensure we develop and deliver not just circular but also safe and reliable products.

As a Product Manager at Refurb Battery, your mission is to develop and design our circular battery products for reuse (design-for-reuse). You’ll focus not only on improving our existing battery applications but also on innovating and developing our future products and services based on the product roadmap.

You are the central figure who ties together the threads of market needs, product strategy, innovation, and execution, ensuring smooth and successful product development. Like a skilled director, you ensure all aspects align seamlessly, creating a true masterpiece as the final product.

Watt will I be doing?

• Staying up to date on technological developments and market trends in the sustainable energy sector and translating these into strategic recommendations/product roadmap;
• Identifying and prioritizing new application areas and market opportunities for our sustainable technologies;
• Being responsible for the product development process—from concept to launch—as well as P&L, such as profitability: from cost price analysis to revenue optimization;
• Drafting and defining technical specifications, as well as ensuring proper certification of our products and partners;
• Collaborating with external parties developing battery applications and the internal team to optimize our production for scalability, reliability, and costs.

Our energy matches when…

• You have a technical Master's or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics or similar;
• You are task-mature, have significant experience in the (sustainable) energy sector, and specifically with product management of energy storage systems;
• You can create financial models to optimize product and business outcomes;
• You have a hands-on and entrepreneurial mindset, with self-organizing capabilities and the ability to present technical concepts clearly to various stakeholders;
• You possess analytical thinking and strong problem-solving skills, can interpret data, and make informed decisions about design processes, technical problem solutions, and lifecycle decisions;
• You are a team player with a proactive and results-oriented attitude, intrinsically motivated to work at a dynamic scale-up with a sustainable mission;
• You are fluent in English. Dutch is a plus;
• A location in Rijsbergen (near Breda) suits you;
• You are available for at least 32 hours per week.
