Business Analyst Energy
What are you going to do?
As a Business Analyst Energy, you will play a key role in setting up and optimizing business processes, particularly within the Energy team. In this role, you will identify organizational needs and develop practical solutions to address them. You will also create buy-in for key changes, provide insights on market developments, and propose efficient strategies to address challenges as they arise. Acting as the central point of contact, you will translate business needs into actionable plans and projects, overseeing the design, implementation, and evaluation of these solutions and projects, while collaborating across all organizational functions. Your primary focus will be on all aspects related to energy, as part of the newly established Energy team.
The Senior Energy Business & Forecasting Analyst will amongst others:
- Analysis: Collects and analyses key data. For example, develops and analyses energy offtake profiles, based on e.g. historic data, across the network, at country and charging location levels, and provides actionable recommendations based on this analysis.
- Forecasting: Builds in close cooperation with the Analytics team, a robust demand/consumption forecasting model to predict energy consumption across the network (hourly, daily, weekly, monthly, and annually) to aid e.g. in energy procurement decisions.
- Responsible for accurately forecasting demand/consumption and provides up-to-date consumption forecasts to Milence's energy suppliers.
- Monitoring & Optimization: Establish capabilities to monitor energy margins per country and location, analyze performance, and suggest ways to optimize margins.
- Acts as ‘person to go to’ for internal teams for market developments, data, analytics and IT related topics.
- Works closely with internal stakeholders on developing pricing strategies for customers.
- Process Improvement: Defines, develops and implements processes and procedures, in close cooperation with key stakeholders, for efficiently and effectively handling all energy-related matters.
- Identifies and quantifies key energy related (market) risks and proposes mitigating actions.
- Builds a risk ‘framework’ given Milence’s risk appetite and which is to be applied when making purchasing/hedging decisions.
- Provides regular (wholesale) price updates to e.g. the Finance team.
- Regularly checks invoices and underlying data.
- Collaboration with Digital & Data Teams: Partner with digital and data teams to develop the necessary tools and systems, including potential software acquisitions or outsourced solutions.
- Dashboard Development: Create dashboards and tools (e.g., Power BI) to track and visualize energy data and performance.
What do you offer?
- Master’s degree in an analytical or technical field (e.g., Econometrics, Mathematics, Physics, Economics) or equivalent working experience.
- 8+ years of experience in analytical or quantitative roles, ideally with experience as a Business Analyst.
- Experience in the (European) energy sector is essential, with strong familiarity in forecasting, analysis and energy-related processes.
- Currently holding a senior-level analytical role, with a proven track record of leading projects independently.
- Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and provide actionable insights.
- Strong English language proficiency, both verbal and written. Additional proficiency in one or more European languages is an advantage.
- Ability to clearly communicate complex information, both verbally and in written form, to a range of stakeholders.
- A creative mindset is a strong pre for solving challenging topics.
- Strong interpersonal skills as he/she will be part of a team and will communicate with key stakeholders in the company.
- Experience in the EV sector is a pre.
