To strengthen our growth and market potential — while addressing the grid congestion and battery waste problems — we must continue to innovate our circular battery products based on current and future market needs. Additionally, these products must comply with (strict) laws and regulations to ensure we design and deliver, not just circular but, also safe and reliable products.
As a Battery Pack Developer at Refurb Battery, your mission is to develop and design our circular battery products for reuse. In addition to improving our current battery modules/packs, you are also involved in innovating and developing our future products based on the product roadmap.
As a principal engineer, you are the connecting link in designing and developing our battery packs and modules. You translate product requirements and specifications into concrete designs and prototypes and steer the entire development process in the right direction. With your technical expertise, you ensure that all aspects of the design fit together perfectly and that the final product meets the highest standards of quality and innovation.
Watt will I be doing?
- Responsible for executing the entire product development process from concept to launch, such as design-for-reuse, technical file, prototyping, and possibly testing and iterative improvement;
- Writing and defining technical specifications, such as the electrical and mechanical (performance) requirements and drawings with dimensions, measurements, and calculations;
- Collaborating with external parties, for developing battery packs and/or other battery applications, and the internal team to optimize our products and production;
- Coordinating the testing and analysis process for our new battery packs (together with or having it carried out by an external party);
- Keeping up to date with technological developments, and possibly market trends, in the sustainable energy sector and translating these into (technical) recommendations;
- Identifying and prioritizing new (battery) technologies, and possibly new application areas and market opportunities, for our circular systems (CESS).
Our energy matches when…
- You have a technical Master's or Bachelor's degree such as Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or similar;
- You are task-mature, have worked as an engineer for many years, and have specific experience with 'design-for-reuse' and thermal management of battery packs or other battery products/energy storage systems;
- You have experience with software programs such as CAD tools; (Siemens) NX, SolidWorks, AutoCAD (Electrical), Eplan, or Ansys, it would be a plus;
- You have a hands-on and entrepreneurial mindset with a self-organizing ability and can present technical concepts to various stakeholders in a clear way;
- You have analytical, problem-posing, and problem-solving skills, can interpret data, make proposals, and even make decisions about the product development (process);
- You are a team player with a proactive and results-oriented attitude and intrinsically motivated to work at a dynamic scale-up with a sustainable mission;
- You have experience with product and project management, it would be a plus;
- You are proficient in English. Dutch is a plus;
- A location in Rijsbergen (near Breda) suits you;
- You are available at least 32 hours per week.
