Senior Consultant – Project Manager

Amsterdam

Are you someone who gets things done? If so, we are looking for an experienced consultant to join our consulting team (20 people) in Amsterdam.

Your role

As an experienced consultant you lead projects with impactful organisations to accelerate the economy towards a fairer, more inclusive, and more sustainable society. While impactful projects bring meaning to your role, they also come with more complexity as they require you to manage stakeholders, explain challenging and new concepts, think creatively and influence decision making. At the same time, you will ensure effective project delivery, budget control and deliver proposals to win the projects we want to do.

You will focus on projects, working with organisations, in the energy, food, materials, banking, and impact investing sectors. You will help them transform by embracing and implementing tools and strategies to measure and manage their impacts, such as renewable energy access, climate change, biodiversity, and human rights in the value chain. You will build expertise in Impact Measurement & Valuation, Sustainability Regulation and True Pricing methods, advising our clients throughout their Impact Journey.

You will take the lead on impact consulting projects, with a focus on project and stakeholder management. You will talk to (potential) clients, develop proposals, guide the sales process, create project plans and oversee the team for seamless project execution. Additionally, you will lead client meetings and presentations, monitor budgets, oversee analyses, and develop recommendations. Beyond project work, you will contribute to sharing knowledge with other teams, product development, and innovation within our work.

Your responsibilities

Projects:

  • Be the main responsible for managing projects and key accounts, ensuring client deliverables are met.
  • Maintain an overarching view of projects, ensuring the most impact for the client (including proposing scope changes and recognizing follow-up sales opportunities).
  • Review deliverables, provide input on storylines, and ensure materials are well-prepared for client meetings.
  • Act as the client’s counterpart in project management and lead important client meetings.
  • Monitor budgets and take necessary actions (e.g., in case of budget overruns)

Commercial:

  • Pro-actively identify sales opportunities and new propositions.
  • Independently manage leads from initiation to project execution
  • Write client-ready proposals with minimal review from senior colleagues
  • Review input from team members and ensure high-quality communication with the client.

Content:

  • Identify new applications of the impact methodology to better respond to needs of the market or client.
  • Ensure alignment with other business units when making key decisions.
  • Responsible for ensuring the quality of models, analyses, and content in client deliverables.

Your skills and experience

  • 6-10 years of consultancy experience
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with the ability to translate data into actionable and clear insights that lead to real impact
  • Experience or motivation to coach and train junior team members
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills in Dutch and English
  • Completed relevant Master’s degree
  • Specific experiences can be a plus, such as expertise in an impact theme (e.g., energy transition, climate change, biodiversity, human rights), sustainability regulation, or experience with change/transition management.
