Ecomatters is looking for a new colleague to work in the field of fact-based sustainability as a medior sustainability consultant! The role will focus on performing and management projects around reporting and carbon footprint calculations. Working at Ecomatters will allow you to apply your relevant experience within the field of corporate reporting and CSRD and provide you with opportunities to utilise your knowledge and skills by working for a wide range of exciting multinational corporate clients and cutting-edge start-ups.

Do you fit this profile?

You are:
  • An experienced team member with a strong working knowledge of reporting within the sustainability domain, the application of legal frameworks, or accountancy rules
  • Ambitious with a commercial and business development mindset, growth oriented, passionate about sustainability
  • Comfortable working in a dynamic environment within a growing team
  • Self-sufficient, proactive, and able to engage external clients and manage projects
  • Fluent in the Dutch language (mother tongue) and English in writing and speaking
You have:
  • Either > 5 years of provable work experience with GRI, SBTi, or similar reporting frameworks and/or Greenhouse Gas Protocol carbon footprint calculations, or > 5 years of work experience in a client facing role in the legal or accountancy sector
  • Strong knowledge of MS office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
The following items are considered an advantage:
  • Understanding and experience in conducting complex calculations
  • Having a well-developed network of contacts
  • Experience in managing colleagues or direct reports
There are several activities you will work on, for example:
  • CSRD reporting and implementation projects, including conducting double materiality assessments, gap-analysis, carbon footprint calculations, etc.
  • Key-account management for reporting projects
  • Develop new services and value propositions around reporting
  • Ensure the quality of the projects we deliver
  • Manage projects and support your colleagues in their development
  • Being responsible for business development and meetings with potential clients
  • Representing the organisation at conferences and sustainability events

The application process

The 1st round of interviews is scheduled for October 8th and 9th, 2024. Successful candidates will be invited to the 2nd round of interviews, which will be held on October 17th and 18th. Afterwards, our preferred candidate will be sent a formal offer during the week of October 21st.

What to expect from working at Ecomatters

As a medior sustainability consultant, you will take the lead on a range of reporting projects across the industries we serve. Utilising your expertise, you will provide relevant insights and highlight opportunities to streamline the CSRD process. You understand reporting frameworks and use this understanding to guide your decision-making, report development, and engagement with both clients and external auditors.

You help our clients to build their knowledge and support building their capacity around CSRD and carbon calculations. In doing so you take on key account management for one or more of our clients in this space. As the account manager you will be responsible for understanding the clients’ needs and translating those needs into clear workstreams for you and your colleagues.

Additionally, you will also engage with our business development activities, offer development, and client onboarding. As part of these activities, you will also design new value propositions and explore how our CSRD offering can work in new sectors. Furthermore, if this is of interest to you, you can become a manager of a number of colleagues and help guide them to grow in their professional development at Ecomatters.
