To strengthen our growth and market potential, but especially to tackle grid congestion and battery waste issues, we should continue to innovate our circular battery products based on current and future market needs. In addition, they must comply with (strict) laws and regulations to design and market safe and reliable products as a company, in addition to circular ones.

As a Product Specialist at Refurb Battery, your mission is to design our circular battery products for reuse (design-for-reuse). In addition to improving our current battery packs, the Product Specialist is also involved in innovating and developing our future products based on the product roadmap.

You are the spider in the web that combines all the threads of product strategy, definition, prototyping, and innovation and thus ensures that the entire product development runs smoothly. As a skilled director, you ensure that all aspects connect seamlessly so the end-result becomes a true masterpiece.

Watt will I be doing?

  • Responsible for (carrying out) the entire product development process from concept to launch, such as design-for-reuse, drawing up a technical file, prototyping; and possibly testing and iterative improvement
  • Writing and defining technical specifications, such as the electrical and mechanical (performance) requirements and drawings with the dimensions, dimensions, and calculations
  • Collaborate with external parties that develop battery packs and the internal production team to optimize our products and production for scalability, reliability, and costs
  • Coordinating the testing and analysis process for our new battery packs (together with or carried out by an external party)
  • Staying abreast of technological developments and market trends in the sustainable energy sector and translating these into strategic recommendations for Refurb Battery
  • Identifying and prioritizing new application areas and market opportunities for our sustainable technologies.

Our energy matches when…

  • You have a technical Master's or Bachelor's degree such as Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or similar
  • You have worked for at least 5 years in the energy sector and have specific experience with 'design-for-reuse' and thermal management of battery packs or other battery technologies or energy storage systems
  • You have experience with CAD software programs/tools such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or Ansys, it’s a plus
  • You have a hands-on and entrepreneurial mindset with a self-organizing ability and can present technical concepts to various stakeholders in a clear way
  • You have analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and make decisions for the design (process)
  • You are a team player with a proactive and results-oriented attitude and intrinsically motivated to work at a dynamic scale-up with a sustainable mission
  • You have experience with product and project management, it would be a plus
  • You master the English language (Dutch is a plus)
  • A location in Rijsbergen (near Breda) suits you
  • You are available at least 32 hours per week.
  • You have a residence and work permit to work in the Netherlands.
