MEDIOR SUSTAINABILITY CONSULTANT
Ecomatters is looking for a new colleague that wants to work in the field of data-driven sustainability as a Medior Sustainability Consultant LCA! Working at Ecomatters will enable you to deploy your relevant experience in the field of Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) and provide plenty of opportunities to test your knowledge and skills by working for a wide range of exciting multinational corporate clients and cutting-edge start-ups.
Do you fit this profile?
You are:
- An experienced LCA expert with a strong knowledge of LCA processes and frameworks
- Ambitious, capable of thinking with a commercial mindset and quantitatively driven
- Comfortable working in a dynamic environment
- Self-sufficient, proactive, and able to perform different roles within a team
- Fluent in English & enough knowledge of Dutch to feel comfortable in a Dutch environment
You have:
- > 4 years of working experience in the field of LCA with a relevant MSc or PhD degree
- Relevant experience in performing sustainability assessments and project management
- Strong knowledge of MS office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Relevant experience with Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) consultancy and LCA-software (SIMAPRO, LCA for Experts (formerly Gabi), etc)
The following items are considered an advantage:
- Having a network within the sustainability or life cycle management (LCM) field
- Experience consultancy and/or managing colleagues
- Experience with the PEF and PEFCR, LCA, and EPD reviews
- An established connection with the Netherlands (through life, work, study, etc.)
There is a broad range of activities you will work on, for example:
- Performing quantitative sustainability assessment (LCA, EPDs and/or Excel modelling)
- Perform LCA reviews
- Account management for specific clients
- Ensure the quality of the work you deliver
- Support our business development and meetings with potential clients
- Representing Ecomatters at conferences and sustainability events

The application process
The 1st round of interviews is scheduled for Wednesday 28th and Friday 30th of October. Successful candidates will be invited to the 2nd round of interviews, which will be held in the week of 2-6 November. Afterwards, our preferred candidate will be sent a formal offer during the week of November 9th.

What to expect from working at Ecomatters
As a medior Sustainability Consultant LCA you will work on a range of LCA projects across the industries we serve. Utilising your expertise you provide relevant data-driven insights and highlight opportunities for impact reduction to our clients. Your understanding of LCA standards guides your decision making on study design, execution, and engagement with both clients and external reviewers. In the same vein you could be involved as a reviewer of studies yourself.
You help our clients to support their needs around LCA and other quantitative sustainability support. In doing so you take on key account management for one or more of our clients in this space. As the account manager you will be responsible for understanding the clients’ needs and translating those needs into clear workstreams for you and your colleagues.
Beyond the previously mentioned aspects you will also engage in our business development activities, offer development, and client onboarding. As part of these activities, you will support the design new value propositions and explore how our LCA offering can work in new sectors.

Our team uses quantitative analysis tools and systems thinking to identify business risks and opportunities.
