Your role  
We're looking for a DevOps/Backend Engineer, someone who wants their systems to run smoothly while also contributing to the actual applications. You enjoy designing, maintaining, and scaling infrastructure and services that power our entire product ecosystem – from real-time monitoring to fleet management and user-facing APIs. This isn’t just about keeping systems online; it’s about creating a foundation that grows with us, stays secure, and supports a greener future. You’ll take ownership of systems end-to-end, valuing reliability, automation, and observability. You collaborate effectively across teams and write clean, well-documented, version-controlled code. As part of a small but driven product team, you’ll play a key role in building the backbone of our technology, always guided by our core value: We energize together. 

What You’ll Do: 

• Design, deploy, and manage cloud infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) using Terraform for Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC). 

• Operate and optimize Kubernetes (k8s) clusters for consistent, automated deployments. 

• Build and maintain Python-based APIs (e.g. FastAPI) that connect our hardware, backend services, and frontend applications. 

• Containerize applications using Docker and ensure smooth GitLab CI/CD pipelines. 

• Work with time-series databases (e.g. InfluxDB) to handle high-frequency data from our mobile batteries. 

• Monitor system health, set up alerts, and ensure high availability, scalability, and disaster recovery. 

• Collaborate with frontend, backend, and product teams early in the process to shape technical solutions that deliver real value. 

• Own the full lifecycle of backend services -from architecture and security to logging, scaling, and feedback-driven improvements. 

• Help define and improve our engineering practices: clean code, documentation, automation, and observability.

Who You Are 

• A true Greener - you care deeply about creating positive impact, challenge outdated systems, and are driven by innovation and continuous improvement. 

• 4+ years of experience in DevOps and backend development within product-driven environments. 

• Strong experience with cloud platforms (GCP preferred, AWS/Azure also welcome) 

• Skilled in automation and infrastructure-as-code (GitLab CI/CD, Terraform). 

• Proficient in containerisation and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes). 

• Experience building and maintaining APIs in Python (e.g. FastAPI). 

• Comfortable working with databases, both time-series (e.g. InfluxDB) and relational (e.g. PostgreSQL). 

Bonus: Experience with IoT, real-time data, or energy technology.
