Our Pragmatic Approach

Semo builds a pragmatic approach for a new economic paradigm. We believe in system transition from practice: creating local 'real-world' hubs that serve as the foundation for a new economy. Our focus is on empowering marginalized communities, the less fortunate and refugees. Through inclusive entrepreneurship programs and creating fair opportunities within our own chains, we not only scale a business model, but an inclusive lifestyle that puts people and the environment first.

Over Semo

Semo is the umbrella body for a new, fair economy. We believe in "Pure Freedom": you are only truly free when you have the information that allows you to make pure choices. Part of our ecosystem is our e-commerce branch, with pioneers such as BetterFlags and Hemptex®. With Semo as a platform, we scale this impact to a level where we can challenge the old systems.

Where you will work

On a boat. In the middle of Amsterdam. 15 minutes walk from Amsterdam Central Station. Lunch in the sun, work with a view of the water, and when the day calls for it, — takes a dip in between. This is not an office; this is the hub where the future of the new economy takes shape.

Your role

Je versterkt ons team op het gebied van marketing en communicatie. Je werkt direct samen met de oprichters aan de zichtbaarheid van het Semo Network en onze diverse projecten (waaronder onze e-commerce initiatieven).

Focusgebieden:

• Merkidentiteit & Narratief: Het vertalen van onze complexe missie naar een helder, gedurfd verhaal.
• Social media & Community: Content plannen die onze community informeert en activeert.
• E-commerce communicatie: Zichtbaarheid vergroten voor onze e-commerce tak (BetterFlags/Hemptex) en aantonen hoe dit past in het grotere Semo-plaatje.
• Online vindbaarheid: Meedenken over SEO en de presentatie van ons platform.
• Campagne-ondersteuning: Actief bijdragen aan de lanceringen van nieuwe tools en events.

Wat we zoeken

• You are following a relevant HBO or WO course (Marketing, Communication, Sustainable Business, or similar).
• You are a self-starter: you see opportunities and take initiative.
• You can translate our complex vision into strong, accessible texts (Dutch and English).
• You have a passion for sustainability, economic transition and entrepreneurship.
